An interview with RG’s own 6x, Sean explains “Tania’s Song” for us:

6x: Who’s Tania?
Sean: Tania’s this really musically inclined writer from Vancouver that came out to Toronto for school. I’d send her music from time to time and get her opinion. One time I sent her that song, without a title. To be honest, that song almost got scrapped from the project, I felt like it could be re-created, but everyone who heard it loved it. It was like a cheat code, so I figured, if I do this song, no matter what, it’ll save the project, so I can go ahead and do 10 minute intros and weird ass shit. Anyway, I sent her the song and she related to the first verse so I named it after her.

Sean connects this line from the album’s opening track “Narcissus” and explains this line a bit (see linked annotation for full effect):

I’m taking shots, you’re taking shots, let’s see who’s got more. Let’s go shot for shot

In reference to taking shots at any and everyone which connects to the final song [Elephant Graveyard] “a hundred shots out the chopper, let’s chop it up”, like I’m taking shots, you’re taking shots, let’s see who’s got more. Let’s go shot for shot" – Sean Leon

“Only time will tell” this is referring back to the local rap scene in Toronto, [its] a splitting image of any episode of The Young and the Restless, it’s a lot of gossip, but none of us know who’s going to ‘pop’ the only possible way of knowing is waiting it out, “so stop all the talk, I copped a clock”, – it’s my time. – Sean Leon

According to Sean, the “jingling” over the hook is intended to sound like the jingling of keys.

Simply put, car dealerships sell cars and hand over key’s, drug dealers sell drugs and hand over kilograms. Car key’s open car doors, coke ki’s open life doors (broads, cars, money). Sean himself had this to say:

Dealership – Dealerman (both supplying key’s/ki’s) over the jingling in the hook. Cars from the drugs. Life as a local rapper you know, levels to celebrity, women acting a certain way, and then underneath you hear Keys open doors, keys keys open doors, Clipse reference, back to keys and ki’s

The key’s to success!

There was some intention with the repetitiveness of the word “petty”, according to Sean himself:

The repetition is what was necessary to replace the word ‘HATER’ with ‘petty’ it’s like, how fresh would it be to replace the most overused word in our culture? Instead of calling someone a hater I wanted to make people use petty.

Check out the participants list here!

Tis the year for change! The NBA has changed the format for this year’s contest and will put the stars in conference vs conference battle – with the winning conference all being dubbed as “2014 Slam Dunk Champions”. Fans will now vote in for their favorite performance and whichever star gets this vote will take the title of “Dunker of the Night”.

The opening round is touted as The Freestyle Round, which each conference will be given 90 seconds for their respective participants to perform as many dunks as they’d like, assists/alley-oops included!

The second round, The Battle Round will put one on one matchups from the East and West, which judges will determine who won the specific battle. The first conference to win three of these matchups will be the victor.

“One” is a Metallica cover that Korn played live (and continues to now) at MTV’s Icon: Metallica, which featured many current rock acts covering classic Metallica songs

Though “One” does not appear as its own track on Korn’s Take a Look in the Mirror, it is a “secret” track that plays after several minutes of silence following the album’s final song, “When Will This End?”
