As an introduction to the song, J.ReaL takes you back to one of his earlier records by rewording his lines from his song, “Flippin'”. He originally said, “verse trice and I’m back in my element/ fresher than a peppermint…….I’m a beat specialist, and all of y'all irrelevant”

This is J.ReaL Hip Hop letting his producer Dexter Beats know it’s time to drop the beat and spaz out on the 1’s & 2’s!

So despite what the world expects from him (which is for him to fail), he’ll not only prevail, but set the blueprint for the next generation to follow and succeed.

As a black male in America, there’s a lot of weight on your shoulders as soon as your life starts: society has low expectations for you, you’re tested by your spirituality, and so much more. But here, J.ReaL’s saying that despite all of this, he’ll push through and succeed because he’s a child of God.

A quote from would-be rap star & locally cherished New Orleans emcee, Soulja Slim. Being that J.ReaL is also a New Orleans rappers, it’s no surprised that he was influenced by Slim, as he is highly regarded as one of the best to ever come from that city. And he’s saying that just like Soulja, it’s hard to maintain a life where you have to stay completely true to yourself when so many people wanna hold you down & oppress you. Knowledge.

R.I.P Slim

He’s saying that just like Rosa Parks, he is an oppressed African-American. And because of that, the police has something against him and wanna beat him down & keep him there. However, unlike Rosa, they’ll do it even if it is okay from him to sit wherever he wants to.

So, does everybody still have to move to the back of the bus?

He does what he says he’ll do.

He’s referencing the last line saying that coming back from the dead is an impossible task. However, I think J.ReaL may have Training Day star, Ethan Hawke, confused with Tom Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt…

A pretty intricate line. cracks knuckles Okay, lemme explain as thoroughly as possible.

See with this line, I’m basically saying things are pretty dark where I’m from (the “clouds” line).

But despite the “grey” color, only Levi (the clothing company) knows who “Jean” is (a reference to comic book character “Jean Grey” from the X-Men and a play on the Homonym meaning jean pants).

So with that being said, there isn’t a way that you could come back from the dead like “Phoenix” (the alter-ego of Jean Grey, as well as the mythical bird of fire of the same name)

I felt it necessary that I personally, J.ReaL Hip Hop, explained this particular line since I like it so much. I usually let my imaginary friend Jermaine do it. But not this one.

Wikipedia defines a Heathen as an Old English term meaning “not Christian or Jewish”.

As he previously stated, his mother was heavily religious. So it’s no surprise that she’d refer to the bad guys on the corners as “heathens”, “sinners” and other biblical slurs.
