It was my first game. I went to Madison Square Garden. I was on the floor seats and I knew that that happens. They play your music and then the thing comes on and then the music comes on and then you’re the Jumbotron. Because they get ready to in front of you, they put the camera on you. They like, “You ready? Let’s go.” And then you got to do your pose or whatever you going to do. You got to show love and the people go crazy. So there was a dope thing and I had an album, I had an album coming out or either it was out and I was promoting it. So that was good for me because they played the music video that I was promoting and everything like that. So it was cool. Sports always supported my music, like always supporting my music. That’s why I dedicated the new level video and song to athletes. So if you watch the video it looks like a turped up Gatorade commercial. That was the whole vibe of it.

I used to say that Rolex line, not knowing what it meant. I didn’t know what Jay Z meant but I knew that if you had a Rolex that ticked then it was fake or something like that. But it didn’t really register to me until I was in Asia and they had these fake Rolexes and they look really real but I was like, “Oh shit.” And I had to look at my watch and the shit was moving smooth and it had no tick in it. So people would be just reciting shit from other rappers because we grew up listening to it so long. But really that was just my story about a Rolex that ticks and the Rolex that don’t tick.

I was blessed and I am blessed. When I came out with ‘Kissing Pink,’ I was touring off Kissing Pink. I was coming out for a verse and just performing Rocky songs, Peso and all of that. I knew we was blessed and I knew my talent and I knew that I had a lot of time to really prove myself and put out music. I know now and I knew then that my work ethic is unmatchable. So it’s where people with talent lacking work and and just getting up and grinding, you know, I would outwork them because I’m talented and I work a lot. I’m obsessed with it. So I knew that I’ll be traveling off my music even if it was one song.

I’m seeing homies there, they’re designers and stuff. I’m not sure if you know public school, the designer. I’m seeing them. They pulling up with all of the models and stuff and it’s like I’m knowing some of them so they blowing kisses.

My very first time sitting court side was at the Knicks game with Brian Leech, who signed me. He gave us the ACI worldwide deal. He signed Rocky and we literally was having to meet in there in the floor seats. And I’m not trying to flex, but this is literally what it was. He like, “Yo, let’s go to the game, let’s talk about whatever moving forward. And Carmelo was saying, "What’s up?” So it was cool.

I just couldn’t change that. That’s Juicy J. You know what I’m saying? I had to bring that back because it was like man when he just went there and said that, it was like raw emotion. That’s how he felt. I was like man I know everybody feel like this, so I just left it.

Yeah, my grandmother she had mad pills, like prescriptions and stuff like that because she had arthritis really bad. Her hands would start to cripple up and everything. She used to just have mad pills around, green ones, red ones, and all types of colors. It just reminds me of now like how everybody is with the over-counter drugs and the prescriptions and everything, so it’s like rappers in society. I picture my grandmother as like if she was a rapper in society, or comparing it to.
