There is no time or place I feel more at home than with my headphones on, absorbed in the instrumental, trying to keep my hand(s) up to speed with my mind.

although the mix and master haven’t happened yet, and sometimes I use verses from DJs or other artists, for the most part my songs come together when I’m recording what I’ve previously written, inspired by the beat and some current event or other topic.

As a kid I dreamt of waking up one day as a Black, Jewish American Indian, so I could really relate. It wasn’t enough being spit on for being a Jew.

What I’m doing – creating the first-ever 100% for-charity global Hip Hop project (dropping 2013 via DJBooth) – is a serious undertaking. All proceeds go to a charity that is responsible for acting on its mission to go beyond the gun exchange, working to educate and empower at-risk youth.

Further (and THIS – for all those asking – is why World View is taking “so long”), it is a great task to coordinate contributions from approximately 75 other emcees and dozens of producers from every continent, around 20 countries and every region of the US.
