Jhene is playing off of the common sayings “time goes by too fast” and “life is too short” through the common time analogy about slowing down the rotation of the earth to slow down time. If she could slow down time, then she could grow closer with her partner instead of “grow apart!”
While drugs (i.e. stimulants & hallucinogens) can distort time, depressants (i.e. alcohol) are more known for slowing down time perception.
Interestingly enough, the rotation of the earth is also said to be gradually slowing down (although the planet’s rotation is fairly irregular). Maybe it’s since time could actually be slowing down why Jhene feels her and her man getting closer!

The Bulls proved they can contend with Miami again in their last face off of the 2013-2014 regular season, as they fight Toronto for the third seed in the East and Miami attempts to dethrone Indiana as #1. The series between the two teams for the season ends at 2-2 for the third straight season.
The game was exceptionally physical, with Jimmy Butler and Lebron getting tangled up (both receiving technical fouls), and very competitive, especially towards the end when Chicago tore down a double digit gap to come from behind and tie the game.

Abel may be referring to two possibilities here.
Using the scenario of the model above, Abel explains that if him and his crew would never have been “put…on” by the fans and by the industry, then the opportunity to meet and bang that model would never have arisen. He goes a step further by pridefully declaring that us giving him these opportunities was probably a bad idea (at least with respect to these girls) and we probably shouldn’t have done so. Oh well.
Abel could also be referring to junkies who are addicted to sex. These girls should have never put the XO crew on because they’re just indulging in their addictions with that money and desire for fame.

The Weeknd makes his audience well aware of the events of his late nights. Typically, Abel juxtaposes the amusement of these sexual encounters and trips to the sky with negative and dark themes and right now, this drunken love sounds pretty familiar.

The concoction of drugs Abel takes keep him awake. In this line, he plays off the popular rhetoric in the rap community that “sleeping” is perceived as being unaware of the surrounding world and any changes to it (refer back to Nas' New York State of Mind) and by not doing that notion, he stays ahead of the game, which follows in the second part, where his enemies only want to catch him sleeping and take advantage of that position for their own (evil) purposes.
The “enemies” piece could refer to “The Morning” where in the second verse, he essentially gives his haters some “Fuck you” bars.
More likely, The Weeknd is referring to a hot song he dropped after his last of his 2011 mixtapes, “Enemy”, where he wants to have sex (or fuck) his girl after a long week.

This situation may allude to “The Morning”, where The Weeknd spends his night messing around with girls until the morning after, when they need to leave his domain. He finds some girls passed out in the shower, possibly after engaging in sexual activity in a wet place.
