With respect to the story Gambino has laid, he reiterates how nothing is going to stop him from getting to Oakland, to see this girl.

In a more metaphorical sense, he’s ignoring any warning signs or bold obstacles in his path; he wants to retain a relationship with this girl, desperately.

In a broader theme of life, Gambino may also simply referring to the conception of “perseverance”, something he has demonstrated throughout this song via the story.

Gambino expresses in many lines how nervous he is to see her, and now he sees only his insecurities as the big red light or stop sign that prevents him from continuing the relationship.

In reading/listening to the verse chronologically, Gambino’s girl is watching movies, just relaxing while Gambino speedily makes his way up to her in Oakland, California. With their intimate past, she probably can’t even wait.

Because the Internet is the second studio album from musician and TV star, Childish Gambino, which was inspired by his observations on how technology has changed social interactions.

In an interview with MTV, Gambino revealed that singer, Beck gave him the idea for the title of the album and explained what the title meant:

I was like, ‘Well, actually…because the Internet — and I hate starting sentences that way,’ and [Beck’s] like, ‘that should be your album title.’ It was a joke, but I just kept thinking about it. I was like, it really works, so Beck gave it to me.

Before the album’s release, problems arose due to the release date. His label, Glassnote Records, wanted the album to release a year later rather than December. Donald then started an internet campaign with the hashtag, #Donald4December to release the album on the desired date.

This is what newer Hopsin fans request in Hop’s music. However, Hopsin feels as though he is still rapping for his older fans as well.

ACCEPTED COMMENT: Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 was a song speaking about the vices of modern youth life.

Big Sean had the first verse on “Control”; the lyrics for Sean’s verse can be read here.

While Sean does touch on several topics, including Detroit’s financial situation, he doesn’t fail to include some commentary on champagne (he definitely loves drinking).

Considering how limited our time alive truly is, Jhene wants to maximize how she lives in the present moment. She’s prepared for whatever comes at her, and, with her partner, she’s always down for intimacy.

Jhene may also believe in the Hindu idea of reincarnation, as she discerns her journey that has taken place…forever.

She also could simply use this line as a hyperbole to describe how long she’s waited to find her partner… in her current life. It’s great for her, she finally has!

Maybe Jhene believes in more than one universe.

She notes that, in the dimension she knows that we exist in (as the theory of parallel universes also contains a piece about having “trans-identities”, or having a similar thing in another universe), her and her partner are soul-mates, or are meant to be together.

  • Metaphorically, one could equate a “soul-mate” to a special key or puzzle piece that only fits one space.

Or

  • Maybe the Yin-Yang relationship comes to mind.

Simply put, they complete each other.

Jhene has been through it all but she stays on her grind. The 6th track on this EP, “3:16 am”, embodies a deep introspection Jhene undergoes about her current feelings, partially stemming from a retrospection she has undergone about the obstacles she’s faced both in life and within.

Nevertheless, she trudges forward, keeps it real, and gets her job done.

Kendrick does a rhythmic list of his competitors, which inspired a plethora of responses from many who didn’t make the list (for several reasons; see the song description on the right for a full list of responses, or check out an article here).

Although not listed in this article, Kendrick did include Meek Mill on the list, who was the only one Kendrick listed to officially record and release a “diss” track aimed at Kendrick.

Drake and Kendrick have also been rumored to be beefing, which spirals from several Drake subliminals on several songs on Nothing Was the Same (i.e. see “The Language”, especially) and was fired up with varying interpretation of Kendrick’s TDE Cypher Verse (2013).

In other words…while majority of the other artists are baffled…Kendrick winnin'.
