Just because you physically have a gun on you, doesn’t mean you’re hard nor does it mean you actually know how to use it. You’ll probably shoot yourself. Clumsy fool.

Kinda like Lil Wayne who shot himself as a kid. But he wasn’t frontin' or trying to act hard, it was a pure accident, but it just proves someone inexperienced can shoot themselves, and it has happened before.

This song is written based a conversation with Tech’s friend’s 8 or 9-year-old daughter. She was telling him (showing him the women in magazines who she didn’t know were photoshopped) that she is never going to be as pretty as they are… particularly those who appeared to be skinny.

In this song, Tech talks about the natural beauty of woman, and how the media has a certain way of seeing if a women is beautiful. This leads to self-hatred, and women doing crazy things to make their appearance more desirable according to the media’s myths… things like:

  • Skin bleaching
  • Butt implants
  • Boob implants
  • Nose jobs
  • Colloegan implants
  • Relaxing hair

He also goes into how models are way, way to skinny… and if a model is fit, has some muscle, it could be considered ugly.

Another thing he touches is how black features were considered ugly, but now things like full lips and big booties are praised upon.

Cassidy raps about his murder case; How it all started, how he was just protecting his family, the time he spent in prison, his homeboys turning on him in court, and him beating the case.

In an interview with FMQB Radio, Cassidy gave insight on the song:

Innocent Man is talking about the situation I went through when I was locked up for the murder and two attempts, It talks about what I was going through and how I was feeling before it happened, after it happened, and how I feel now. I think it says a lot, and it tells you a lot about me. It’s definitely going to be my second single because it brings my story to light. And this is what the album is based on — the Barry Reese story. I wanted to tell my story, my real life story, not just about being an entertainer, but the story about being Barry Reese.

This song samples Innocent Man by Mark Morrison.

Pillow man refers to him being the most slept on rapper, meaning people ain’t checking him out even if they hear good things. And we all know that you sleep on pillows, and sometimes when you sleep, you dream, and you can have nightmares as well.

When he says I’ll be in your dreams, he is either referring to:

  • Haunting your dreams or;
  • You dream about rapping with him or meeting him because he got big
