His career took a turn for the worst when on December 27, 1999, Shyne and Diddy were involved in a shooting at a Manhattan club which left three people injured. As a result the 21-year-old rapper, whose debut album was pending release, was charged with and convicted of attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. Barnum was merged with the Ringling Brothers Circus. He compares the current state of hip-hop to a circus, a big joke with no meaning behind it what so ever.

He might be referring to this circus, and Lil Wayne being the Clown. Pusha T has compared Young Money to a circus before.
