Rap is his technique.
This could also be a reference to the groundbreaking and highly influential technique that Rakim showed in his first album, the Internal Rhyme scheme

Notice his internal rhyming scheme:

This verse was very controversial when the song dropped. At the time, Canibus recorded his verse first, using bars such as, “Yo L, is that a Mic on your arm? Let me borrow that” and “I’ll snatch the crown with your head still attached to it”. LL interpreted both lines as a diss towards himself and asked Canibus to re-record his verse to exclude these bars, and then recorded his verse dissing Canibus.

This resulted in one of the most famous beefs in hip-hop history, with both artists making vicious diss tracks towards each other. Following the release of “4, 3, 2, 1,” Canibus released “Second Round K.O.” LL responded to this diss track with “The Ripper Strikes Back” which also caused another beef between Eminem and Canibus, who accused Em of writing the diss for LL.

LL also received the “Hip-Hop Quotable of the month” in The Source magazine for this verse.
