Rhyme famously stolen by Turbo B for Snap!’s “Rhythm is a Dancer.”

Turbo B has been mocked senselessly with the use of this line, mostly because he bit the rhyme off Rakim, and secondly because of the way how Turbo B rearranged it and made it the ending of his part:

I’m serious as cancer
When I say rhythm is a dancer

It’s worth to mention Rakim’s wordplay. He states that he has a question, then spits two words that rhyme with “answer” (“cancer,” “dancer), but doesn’t say the word itself.

A lot of wordplay here. Genghis ‘Khan’ + Ye = Kanye West. Lu also likes reppin' the [Kanye] West side of Chicago

Also, He refers to the previous line about his friends being in gangs and points out that he, himself, is not by saying his nickname is Gang-is-con (Genghis Khan) because con means to oppose or be on the opposing side. I know, it’s a lot to take in.

The bottom of the stove is where you can place slices of bread for toast if you don’t have a toaster.

“toast” = slang for gun

  • The preceding line speaks of a “Hallway full of R.I.P.’s” which connects directly to the gun reference. It is often difficult to figure out where guns obtained illegally originally came from (“None of us know the makers of the toast”)

  • The next line plays off of that idea with a simile, “Like the bottom of the stove” – toast gets pretty personal with the “bottom of the stove” so it’s hard to find someone who knows toast as well as the bottom of the stove…

He’s trying to say look outside of your narrow mindset and realize that people who belong to all religions have the potential and capacity to do something horrendous, due to insanity and extreme indoctrination. Don’t associate potential violence to just one group of people due to your limited perception.

He could also be referring to the governments insisting on putting unnecessary traces of fluoride in drinking water.. Fluoride being in most toothpastes to kill germs that cause cavities.. but its also used in pesticides and is a toxic substance.

Also, in an interview with XXL before Food and Liquor was released, Lupe mentioned that he read an article that mentioned a Christian Organization planning on poisoning water to kick start the second coming of Christ.

Lupe is most likely referring to how if a white American group does something, it’s known as a patriotic act, not domestic terrorism, without a question regardless of its adverse effects. However when a Muslim American or any other person of a faith outside of Christianity or Catholicism, does something similar it is known as domestic terrorism or terrorism.

This is the sound a skateboard makes when going down a sidewalk. The wheels riding over the cracks (spaced about 4 feet apart) in the sidewalk create the Kakunk sound over and over.

His neighbors couldn’t stand the constant sound of the skateboard, so he was forced to go to the skate park. There, he would spend entire days practicing.

When you shoot someone it peels their skin, and you have to prepare potatoes by peeling their skins (Idaho potatoes are famous because of heavy advertising by a state commission).

A skin is a rolling paper used for rolling up joints. Biggie smokes so much weed that he peels more rolling papers out of the packet than a chip company which has to peel its potatoes first.
