Again, Wale loves shouting out DC AND PG areas. This is the second time in the song he has done so. Also, there is nary a place in the building that escapes the DC and PG chillin. Not the floor, not mid-air, not the walls and certainly not the ceiling

At this point Charles has rapped his 16 bars, but has decided to “throw in extra bars just for the non-believers” like Nature references in his “Banned from TV” verse

Charles asks and answers his own question. He tells us that in order to create change you cannot focus on what people are saying. Charles is most notably referencing the “self-fulfilling prophecy”, whereby if you think something it will happen

Example:
Thinking: “I’m going to fail this test.”
Result: You end up failing the test.
Thinking: “I’m going to pass this test.”
Result: You end up passing the test

Charles is hoping to inspire us by changing our way of thinking

Asher is dismissing the previous claim of him being the next Eminem, Charles as the next Kanye and B.o.B. as the next Andre 3000. He merely means to say that it has just been a long time since there have been artists who remind people of the aforementioned superstars

Asher is also mentioning the amount of time and hard work they have put into becoming a rapper

Asher is describing his studio session with Charles and B.o.B. and how they were brainstorming for their verses and point of views to take. “Phonics” meaning lyrics

This also refers to the playfully intentional mispronunciations Asher Roth had been using throughout his verse, creating more rhymes and a whimsical lightness to these heavy societal topics. Phonics is the just rules in a language for how certain spellings correspond to certain sounds in words. Asher Roth was manipulating this to repeat a “short o” sound throughout the verse, even where it was not linguistically correct, for effect.

Playing on the common term “drink and drive,” Kanye believes the “powers that be,” who are coincidentally racist white people, flood the airwaves with ignorant, minstrel show-like trash because they want don’t want Black people to actually start thinking of how to surmount an uprising and better their situations
