Inner Circle’s hit song “Bad Boys” was popularized when a producer selected it as the theme for the television show Cops because he was a fan of the group. It was also used in and lent the name to the Bad Boys series of movies. While the hook may be shouted by “bad boys” everywhere, the song is actually against drugs and crime and the lifestyle they bring. Because of its association with Cops, it is commonly misinterpreted as being pro-police.

The Cops association is so strong, that it has been used in parody countless times.
