This scene shows the ruthless edge to the ‘law’ that Little Bill lays down. Bob is charming, slick and articulate whereas Bill is ruthless, illiterate and blunt. Having disarmed Bob, Bill decides that he needs to make an example of him and beats him in front of the whole town.

Played by Lex Lut…no Gene Hackman, Little Bill is a very complex character. As the opposite to Eastwood in a cowboy movie, you would expect him to be the bad guy a la Lee Van Cleef in TGTBATU. However, Bill is a lawman, the traditional ‘good guy’ in these movies. Despite this – he gains little sympathy from any audience. He beats peope senseless, swears, displays corpses as trophies and is a general bully to the people of the town.

People have argued in defence of Bill and his actions, arguing that his ‘sadistic’ nature is part of growing up in that background and dealing with such killers as English Bob and William Munny.

Whatever side of the debate you fall on, Bill (played wonderfully by Hackman) is a truly memorable character, worthy of going toe to toe with Eastwood.

Ok, this is a tough one. The character Thor is a version of the Norse God, of the same name. The current leaning seems to be that he is an alien that inspired our culture? In the main Marvel Universe he is an alien who is part of the Asgardian world.
