This is a sample of “The Hamster Dance” if you recall from the dawn of the Internet. We sampled that. I tried to throw it at a lot of producers and a lot of them were afraid to touch that because it could be stupid if you didn’t do it the right way.

JP, the producer, is 16 years old. I threw it to him and he threw it right back. I was like, “Oh damn!”

This song addresses the Halle Berry rumors that were going around about her and I. I just make some little sly comments on here.

The kind of news coverage this got was like something that I never experienced before. I never had so many people text me. All of the accomplishments I have in hip-hop and this is what gets everybody going.

Dave East got me his verse in like 24 hours. I love New York hip-hop and he’s like the golden child for what’s going on out here now. I’m a fan of his work.

I originally recorded a song over this sample, which is Chumbawamba “Tubthumping” from back in the 90s.

It was supposed to be on the first Webster’s Lab but never was. I tried to have a few other people make the beat, but it never met the standard that I was looking for and then we re-addressed it a couple of months ago with juice.

He pulled it together in a way that I never expected.

After he made the beat, his computer crashed and we lost the whole thing and we had to build the same beat over again.

It’s just fun, it’s a drinking song.

I was the first artist to crash Datpiff. That’s a cool accolade to have.

It’s a freeverse over “What’s Golden” by Jurassic 5, which is a jam. The mission statement of the song is that a lot has changed since I first crashed Datpiff over 5 years ago.

The game has changed so much already, but I’ve remained consistent doing this.

That’s some real shit. I’m not one who likes to slander people, but I am 7 years deep in the game and 7 years independent.

It’s a hard game as it is and you really have to make sure you have the right people around you and are on top of everything.

What I realized in the past 6-8 months is if I want the job done best, I gotta do a lot of it myself. Some changes were made and some people are no longer involved.
