Hopsin describes himself as an “undercover positive rapper” because he is really giving a good message. he is not talking about drugs, sex, money and gangs like a lot of other rappers. He is here to benefit and help the youth of today and steer them into the right direction.

CiNo wrote this back in 2006, when he went by the alias “Chris The Lyricist” aka “CTL”.
This is the only track on Overkill that is old material.

Tech N9ne is incredible and reaches unfathomable heights when he’s on the microphone with his talent and skills. This is also a reference to his Worldwide Choppers partner’s, Busta Rhymes, verse on Chris Brown’s speedy “Look At Me Now” when saying “and I know that I can be a little bit cocky,” a reference which is hammered home with the end of the line: “when I burst rhyme”.

Everyone’s favorite track off of CiNo’s Overkill demo/mixtape.

CiNo is just spitting some of his craziest rhymes and flows over Lil Wayne’s boombastic beat, 6 Foot 7 Foot.

Thinking about Hopsin’s image with the white contacts, several rings and crazy lyrics, a regular individual would usually feel frightened and judge him without getting to know him personally or on any deeper level. People see him as an “angry crook”, “hooligan” and “punk, rebellious, emo skateboarder” (from YouTube haters…) when it’s just a fake image painted of him. His style is mainly concentrated around great lyrics accompanied with heavy shock value.

Tech N9ne considers himself a mental giant- as in to say he has a big head. But, he has much reason to think highly of himself. At least he waited for a large amount of people to call him the best before he claimed it himself…

Also, “mental giant” is a play on the more common “gentle giant.”

“He’s a Mental Giant” was sampled from Walter Lantz’s “Boy Meets Dog”, which was an American animated commercial short from 1938. The sample itself in the animated short is based on the Russian folk song “The Song of the Volga Boatmen”.

KOD = King Of Darkness
K.O.D. is Tech’s darkest album to date, in which this EP, Seepage, is a continuation of.

Tech also plays with this line because it sounds like he’s asking “Do you believe in God?”. Tech said it himself that he has a God Complex

This is the first official single off of Tech N9ne’s 12th full studio effort, All 6’s And 7’s.

In this song, Tech N9ne decides to be narcissistic and big-headed. He has been humble for too long and now he feels he needs to shut some rappers up and address some issues, along with some crazy punchlines.

Produced by Seven, the sample is taken from a classic 1939 cartoon titled Boy Meets Dog.

Tech is undeniably on top of the indie game, now he’s about to take over the mainstream. He is proving that you can become successful without “making it rain” in your videos by throwing money to the floor on hoes and wearing 10 chains, hence him saying “dropping the rain”. He is dropping that bullshit. But the other meaning to that quote is to actually drop rain from the sky, which only God (or the clouds, for all you atheists) can do, hence “Godly gifted”.

“Dropping the rein” is also an allusion to dropping the reins on a horse and just letting it go where it goes uncontrollably. Same concept as “free rein”.
