The Illuminati was a secret society infamous for their plans to take over the world AKA the New World Order. Although the original Illuminati was said to have been dissolved a mere 11 years after it’s inception, some believe that their agenda is still alive and progressing today. It is also believed by some that they purposely keep large swaths of the populations of the world poor, so as to rule over them easier. Hopsin has mentioned them numerous times in his music, thus it is safe to say that he believes in these things or some variation of them.

It may seem so that he can’t see the nocturnal rainbows (the so called truth), but he sees the darkness and this provides truth about the nocturnal rainbows (the fact that they’re made up by people just to gain power)

Hopsin spends his life in darkness because that is where the truth is hidden. To other people it may seem like he’s stumbling around in darkness like a fool but he is just walking with the light. In this way it is like Plato’s allegory of the cave. Hop has seen the truth outside the cave but we are stuck in the lies that serve as the caves darkness.

When the “truth” isn’t there, impossible things are molded into the truth.

Although this metaphor relies on rainbows being impossible at night, that’s actually not the case. Real “nocturnal rainbows”, called moonbows, are produced by light reflected off the surface of the moon rather than from direct sunlight.

This is a pretty simple song to interpret because that is how Hopsin intended it to be. He’s written a song asking a few questions and asking the listener to look within themselves and ask “Am I wasting my life?”
Though simple it is stylistically very well organized and orchestrated so that it delivers one coherent thought to the listener without much fat to trim.

One of the stand-out tracks off Hopsin’s sophomore LP, Raw.
Hopsin has never smoked or drank alcohol in his life. Ever since a teen, he’s been dedicated to making music and entertainment (writing, producing, mixing, performing, filming, editing and acting)

He’s a very hard worker. He could be a true role model (in some cases).

A “baton” is a hollow cylinder passed from runner to runner in a relay race. Hopsin is running faster than you, so give up the baton to him.

When Hopsin says give up the baton, he’s making a reference for others rappers to pass the torch to him because he intends to excel in the new generation of rappers.
