“Where you come from” in hip hop culture refers to your hometown, not where you went to school. An example of this can be found through Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d city”:

“Man down, where you from, nigga?”

Snoop often shouts out his hometown of Long Beach, California (see e.g. “Nuthin' but a G Thang”)

The confusion between “where you come from” being about your alma mater vs. your hometown is due to the premise of combining an executive-style job interview vs. the entering rap world, in the same scene.

Considering how most rappers come from harsh upbringings, Snoop can’t sympathize with LD’s background.

Snoop himself had a frequently absent father, sold cocaine, was a member of the Crips, and was frequently incarcerated before his rap career took off

Meek, being from the mean streets of Killadelphia, came from the rough and tough, so he can get nasty out there, if he has to.

The familial allusion could also referring to Drake’s Young Money family: Nicki being his sister and Wayne his brother.

Similar imagery of committing violence and sexual violence against a target’s family has long permeated hip hop: see e.g. Biggie – “Somebody Gotta Die” and “Dead Wrong”, 50 Cent – “Heat”, and DMX – “X is Coming”
