This line refers to the developing area in quantum mechanics and theoretical physics, more specifically string theory, called the “holographic principle”.

Leading physicists chiefly Dr. Stephen Hawking (through his work with black holes) have propounded the theory that what we perceive to be a 3-D universe may stem from some form of 2-D holographic projection. This projection is just on a mind-blowingly large, universal scale.

If over time proven to be correct and well-founded, it could give physicists massive footholds to better comprehend the theory of gravity.
