Beginning with an introduction of Chrispi The Infallible as a Presidential candidate over a leery piano riff, #TheAlley presents an unexpected social-political commentary on ghetto life masked in a aggressive toned delivery.

The menacing hook, “If you ain’t ready don’t be outside,” is a warning to those not familiar with the surroundings stay inside if you’re not from the area when the sun goes down. After all, “Night time is the right time,” and “niggas catch you slipping coming out of Wright Tyme,” a popular studio in Toledo, OH.

The stand out line from Mr. Infallible’s verse is “Shady faces in sketchy areas breaking your comfortable barriers with how long my staring was.” He follows this with the mocking phrase, “Panic attack when I rap.” This is brilliant display of lyricism reflecting the fears of whites that manifests itself in everyday interactions.

He chooses to say “shady faces” which could be interpreted as people you don’t know or black people. In the context of #TheAlley, it’s probably both making it even more troubling to an average white man visiting Chrispi’s neighborhood at night. The rest of the the line’s brilliance lies in the perception of blacks by whites and the subsequent responses received. These responses are caused by subconscious fears of blacks produced by years of negative programming through propaganda.

Many African American males have experienced the “door lock"when walking past a Caucasian’s car. Fast forward to 3:28 of Lupe Fiasco’s "Outta My Head” video. The older white lady switches her purse to her other shoulder anticipating Lupe’s attempted robbery. Even more grave, Emmitt Till’s brutal beating and lynching for flirting with a white woman. “Comfortable barriers” are broken by blacks who fix their gaze too long on anything in the white world perceived to be out of bounds.

Chrispi then couples the “shady faces” line with the phrase “Panic attack when I rap,” which signifies, to me, the hypocrisy of White America when discussing the violence in Hip Hop. America was founded on one of the most violent, murderous campaigns inflicted on a group of people. American police forces have, for years, murdered black citizens with impunity but popular critics usually only focus on the violence in Hip Hop. I believe Mr. Infallible’s stance here is “Don’t mess with me and I won’t have to mess with you,” given the fact that he has a “black strap with the tags on it.”

Overall, Chrispi the Infallible here explores his “Darker than darkness” side while subtly making social commentary on life in his environment. #TheAlley is a song on a great concept tape called PresidentSoul that is worth a listen. You can listen to his tap here: http://tinyurl.com/presidentsoul

There are a lot of television evangelist that make a profit off people’s faith. It is not wrong to build the church, but to ask people for money for your own benefit is wrong

When anything happens in the hood it takes a while for the police to get there. Even if someone is murdered. Guess they got better things to do.

Now I compare soldiers in the military to soldiers on the streets. They start very young and grow up in this environment. It’s all they know. They have an even lower age of death a lot of times because they start so much earlier
