At the beginning of his career, Rampage went by Rampage the Last Boyscout. He would release his first two singles, “Beware of the Rampsack” and “Wild for da Night,” under that name. Before the release of his debut album Scouts Honor… by Way of Blood, Rampage retired the long name.

In 2014, Rampage’s shelved, first album Red Oktoba was finally released and was appropriately credited to “Rampage the Last Boyscout.” It also featured a previously unreleased song titled “The Last Boyscout.”

“Boys ‘n the hood” directly relates to Cube’s former crew N.W.A, which he left in late 1989, half a year prior to releasing AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted. One of the group’s first singles was a solo record by member Eazy-E, titled “Boyz-n-the-Hood.”

In 1991, Cube made his acting debut in a movie titled Boyz n the Hood—which named after the Eazy-E song—and contributed to its soundtrack with “How to Survive in South Central.”

Come on clap your hands
Put your hands together
And clap yeah
Now everybody say “Bootsy!”
