One of the first songs I recorded back when me and Joey both lived in East Flatbush a couple of streets away from each other. I might have been in 11th or 12th grade at the time. Joey was going to Edward R. Murrow, and I was attending Erasmus High School. We both went to the same Jr. High School in Crown Heights. After a few convos he convinced me to come over to his crib and record music. The rest is history.

After a trip to Statik’s crib one day to record more music, I believe he had pieces of the beat ready. Listening close to the sample, he pointed it out to me in the beginning of the sample it sounds like a choir singing “Dear Lord, let Dessy in” and after that I already had the first verse before I even stepped foot in his crib. By the time he was finish thinking about how he wanted to scratch over the record, I finished the hook and the second verse. Joey came through and I made him rap an outro to the record.

Originally Rell and I were in the studio
and gonna put out a freestyle to the Memphis Bleek performed track “Intro – Hand It Down” off Jay’s “Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life” but when we couldn’t get an official instrumental, instead he played this beat for me and I laid vocals on it. Joey heard what I did on the track then added his vocals.
