I wanted to start the song off with exactly how I was feeling. There are so many artists or professionals in their field that feel it may be too late to make it to the next level. But I believe that if you follow your purpose and keep God first, anything is possible. As an aging artist that has been on the underground circuit for so long, it would be easy to just give up. But I’m not built or designed that way. I understand that their is a blessing in the process, regardless of the outcome! So I push forward….

Some word play here… Even when I’m away from hip hop I’m engulfed in hip hop.. They put me in “detox” I’ll probably be in there “beat boxing”.. Hip hop is me and I am hip hop. I can’t escape that!

Sometimes we dream too small… Shoot for bigger targets.

Tapping back into an earlier theme from the first verse.. I’m serving your bars instead of drugs.. Just another way to get the kids minds focused on using this artform as a path away from the streets.

Super intricate here… Ok let’s see here…. Coming off the last bar, a lot of MCs are 2 faced.. One face in music and another face in real life. However, my bars are sharper than your mask (which is the fake face you use to hide your real one).. I reference a surgeon to illustrate that my bars are “sharp” enough for surgery but also to invoke the imagery of the movie “Face Off” where a surgeon actually switched the faces of 2 human beings… lol Sorry ya’ll.. I’m ADHD so when I get in my zone I’m all over the place… Ok so yeah…. I follow “surgeon” with “general”… A Surgeon General is the head of a public health service or of an armed forces medical service. Then I kind of play off the gun heavy bars of a lot of MCs with taunting them by comparing the power of a .50 calibar gun to the power of my bars… “before hitting the booth, JK (my studio engineer) has to give me a pat down”… lol As if to say I’m coming into the studio fully loaded and ready to wreck ish! hahaha!

As in “Heckler & Koch” the gun company… A lot of dudes rap like they putting work in the streets but in reality it’s just an act.. Shouts to all the real ones out there really living their raps though!

I use to play professional (minor league) baseball so I’m a big baseball fan.. Trevor Hoffman was one of the best closers in the game growing up. So when it pertains to finishing a verse or a project or a cypher I want to close it out STRONG!!!!

My brother Sheisty Khrist just dropped an album called “Cold Winter” so I was playing off that album title as well as signifying the start of the season change.. No more fly ish… When that weather starts getting colder the vibe of the music starts to change. During the summer we want “fun in the sun” but when the fall and winter approaches we need something with more substance..

In Kentucky we use the word “cold” to describe something good… i.e.: “Yo fam… His bars is COLD!!” So the next couple of lines I get a little more intricate in the description of how cold I am with the bars… lol
