“dropping science” is a term used meaning speaking knowledge. So i was just having fun with the metaphor and the literal definition of the term “dropping science”… Beakers & flasks were instrumentals used in science classes.

“Dead Sea Scrolls” were said to have have been lost and later found scriptures from the bible.. I was just using it as a metaphor that I’m speaking knowledge that may have been lost to many of our kids through the school system but later found through the truth of hiphop music..

These 2 lines are basically saying… That even though revisiting the past gives us guidance towards the future, if that Socrates & Plato was too outdated for you let me give you something more relevant and current.. So I touched on how rapping violence can bring unwanted violence your way.. These bars really highlight the constant battle on the most effect way to reach these kids when speaking to them. You have to relate.. If they don’t understand you, you can’t reach them.. But you also have to push their understanding in order to let them know your on a greater path which legtitimizes your words in their eyes..

This is basically speaking to the kids.. Like, if you want to feel free and good about yourself then just drop a beat and let me inspire thru rap.. Also, I wanted to make knowledge seem cool to them by exaggerating that I could study philosophy with some of the great minds of all time!

This is just me talking that sh*t! MCs gotta get that off sometimes to stay sharp. Here in KY, a lot of people poke fun because I wear Kangols a lot so I thought it would be dope to throw that in there but with confidence…

This is basically God saying my son is not perfect but he still has the power to be great. I also wove in another metaphor in using Eli (an elite quarterback) Manning and then sighting his father Archie (God) in which he got his greatness from. I also tied in the biblical reference with the football metaphor by closing with the “Book Of Eli” which was a movie about one of God’s warriors protecting the word.

At one point as an MC I was trying to spit about all the worldly things I was experiencing thinking that’s what the labels wanted to hear. But it was almost like God wasn’t having it! He kept an angel on my right shoulder telling me to stay on my path..
