Training Day (the movie) has always had a profound effect on me from the 1st time I saw it. Denzel’s performance was a true spectacle to behold. That being said I chose this pivotal scene where Alonzo’s character had an impasse with his former protege. This scene is exactly like so many of life’s confrontations. Even the part where Bones tells Alonso he’s gotta put in his own work is so true of everyday life. In writing I began contemplating who’s been the “Alonzo” in my life. & the answer I got was my mother. So this song slowly transformed into a tribute to her…go figure…

“Who You” is a song about internal questions. As always most of my songs deal with self reflection. This one in particualr deals with who we truly are as opposed to the image we see of ourselves. The first verse deals with the cocky side of my personailty. Where I’m over zealous and confident, however I don’t recite it in my regular voice, which can lead one to believe that it’s not truly me but rather a persona I can hide behind and showcase a side of myself I wouldn’t normally show. The 2nd verse is more like myself. Humble and insightful, showcasing reasons for the cockyness showcased earlier in the song. It hits on a more personal level and is recited in my actual voice.

Surely fail is a song about reflection. About the effort placed into being different and how alike you are to so many people in the pursuit of the same ideal. The song begins with a conversation with my conscience and the realization that the promises I made for myself I inadvertently placed them aside. But all humans do this, though most won’t admit it

Fire and Ice is a song based on the poem by “Robert Frost”. The poem is relatively short but has deep meanings.
The poem itself does not require a large amount of explanation as to meaning of words or phrases, due to Frost’s concentration on making the poem readable and understandable by all. Despite the simplicity of the language use, the poem carries with it very deep thematic ideas. Essentially, Frost is providing commentary upon two of the darkest traits of humanity: the capacity to hate, and the capacity to be consumed by lust. Of the two, he attributes the greater of two evils to desire, saying “From what I’ve tasted of desire / I hold with those who favor fire.” In giving desire the foremost position in regards to the destruction of the world, Frost is providing a powerful statement on the subject of greed and jealousy, saying that above all else, even hatred, this is the trait of humanity that is most likely to lead to its demise. To Frost, desire represents the greatest problem that the world faces. In light of the fact that this was written in regards to the Great War, this statement is essentially attributing the cause of the war to human greed and lust, in doing so providing a current and relatable warning against this behavior in the future. Following his statement upon fire and desire, Frost then attributes hatred with almost the same capacity to do harm as desire, saying “I think I know enough of hate / to say that for destruction ice…would suffice.” While this lessens the relative importance of hatred in regards to the poem as a whole, it is still presented as having the ability to lead to the destruction of the world if it were to happen for a second time, again providing a powerful warning against this human fallacy. Overall, then, the intention and meaning behind the poem is a basic desire on Frost’s part to warn, in his own manner, against what he sees as the two greatest problems facing humanity.

‘Too Long’ is basically a song that showcases how far this hobby has gone & the process that Xeezy has undergone as an artist. In spite of constant hindrances…such as lack of support from peers,or lack of motivation from himself….The song begins as a sort of a self-prayer,where Xeezy asks for forgivenice for what he’s about to say before voicing his opinion…

This song has so many weird coincidences it not even remotely funny….when I began writing for it I had already picked out the name for the song, but had no idea who I wanted to feature on it…..then when I decided on the artist someone I colabrated with before (Yung Resse) I didn’t know he changed his stage named to logic-kon….oddly enough if you combine the two artist on the tracks name ‘X-eezy’ and ‘Logic’ you get X-otic…..I’m really fortunate that Logic was able to record a verse since I asked him last minute to do so but what he came up with was more than I could ever hope for…so I hope yal enjoy

Azztec is a combination of the words Ass & Technician not to be confused with the indigenous people of the America’s. A lot of the ass references on this song are indeed quite technical & nothing is as it seems in terms of meaning.Quite frankly I wanted to try a new approach to previous ass songs done in the pass & this is what I came up with paying a lotta homage to Big Sean

Song: 1 Train Instrumental A$Ap Rocky
X MiXtape
Xeezy ft (Alter Ego)

In keeping with the ‘X’ miXtapes theme of all ‘X’ related titles this song is titled Xing which is usually found on a crossing on a school premises. This song is basically a homage to his crossing from his adolescent years & how awkward the inner turmoil must have been during this time period.
