These rhymes were definitely written more recently than the lead up to the Warm Up. He referenced Rick Ross’s “Rich Forever.” Cole probably says “Warm Up” because he wanted to recapture the spirit of the times when he was making music all for fun, something he talked about in the Intro.

Cole may also be referring to the possibility of “The Warm Up 2” which he hinted about in Wale’s Winter Schemes.

Following up with the next lines Jim Jones was the leader of the People’s Temple a group of people who were essentially being corralled along until over 300 members were forced to commit suicide by drinking cyanide.

Rashad is saying here that his cult following is back and it’s time to follow him, he has the kind of swagger that Jones had to appeal to lots of people and make him seem likeable.

He never gets enough sleep because he always has his mind focused on being the best he can in the rap game.

Notice that the motives for the actions bring the opposite effects. Sleeping usually induces a state of calmness and not feeling wide awake. Whereas, when you wake from sleep, you should feel rejuvinated; but he feels tired.

The Trinity in the Bible is composed of God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. They’re all different but all united at the same time.

Ab says that if he’s a god then it makes practical sense to put him and Jesus on an even playing field of respect; and since people revere Jesus, Ab wishes to be revered as well, so he uses that as a pick-up line with women.

In fact, him and Jesus all have the same qualities except…
#Ab just has a bigger dick.

Common Five-Percenter talk in hip-hop is referring to yourselves as gods.
Nas (Memory Lane)

“Peace God, now the shit is explained
I’m takin' niggaz on a trip straight through memory lane”

Rakim (Holy Are You)

“For those who find it hard to believe, and it is, Why they call me the God MC, the lyricist”

Raekwon (Knowledge God)

“Shit is wild overall, youknowhatI'msayin God?”

Also, maybe foreshadowing to the future bible references but Psalms 82:6 which states the references to us all being gods

“I said, ‘You are "gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’*

Although, if Soul was using it in a 5-Percenter term then it wouldn’t make sense to say you are below God simply because the personal use of the word god from 5-Percenter to 5-Percenter is used to express that we’re all gods within ourselves and there is nothing higher up than us.

Found in Ch. 6 of The Book of Daniel

Should be Daniel, I think Soul may have gotten it wrong.
#Either way!
Daniel in the lions den is the story of Daniel who continues to pray to God while under the decree of not worshipping to any gods for 30 days. For disobeying the law he is thrown in a lion’s den.

Ab-Soul throws in the part about the steak to spice things up a bit.

Daniel comes out the next day unscathed and in turn, the townspeople see what had happened and threw the king in the den instead.

#Tough Lines From Soul

In the Bible; the book of Daniel (Daniel 2) King Nebuchadnezzar (King of Babylon) has a dream about a statue made of four metals representing four kingdoms.

He demands that his wisemen interpret the dream’s meaning, but he cannot tell them what the dream was about. King Nebuchadnezzar then says if you cannot tell me my dream and interpret it, then I will have you killed.

Daniel receives the details of the dream that night when he goes to sleep from God. He then tells Nebuchadnezzar his dream that Nebuchadnezzar had had the night before and interprets it perfectly. Thus, becoming leader of wisemen in Babylon.

Could be a hint at how transparent the rap game is in terms of clever lines. The game (competition from other rappers) are Nebuchadnezzar, then he can easily see through what they think is worth hiding in terms of wordplay or cleverness. (Daniel)
