A play on words here, Dyaz decides to compare James’s sanity to that of Tunes. A rebel/emcee with a notorious reputation here at RG.

Tunes is the forefront of S.K.O.R.g — a movement of his own creation and what others believe to be somewhat of a nuisance; he is known to make outlandish remarks and continues to challenge the authority here. Tunes sometimes rambles on about matters/people in what some consider to be in an odd manner, leading a few to jokingly question his sanity; hence, the comparison.

Notice how Dyaz uses the words “looney” and “tunes” in the same line, words which together form the popular show, Looney Tunes. A show in which Dyaz will continue to make references to in his coming lines.

Sadistik refers to Napoleon Bonaparte, a man with a fierce reputation for leading France against a series of coalitions. Take note of how “bones apart” sounds like “Bonaparte” (Napoloeon’s last name) which is a nice play on words.

Also, the Napoleon complex is a term used to describe the aggressive and controlling personality of short people who feel like they have something to prove because of their small height. The term itself was coined thanks to Mr. Bonaparte, as he was short and aggressive himself. However, in this case Sadistik refers it to a lover of his who is being aggressive and controlling over him; this in turn damages him emotionally or as he states, “rips his bones apart” – metaphorically speaking.

Winter here is a metaphor for anguish, misery, sadness, because Winter may be harsh, tough, blistering. Censchi states that this suffering has been endured for too long, and that it’s time to experience the warmth of the sun — which is also a metaphor for happiness.

Sadistik ponders to himself that what if each raindrop contained a message from the heavens, that if you could decipher it you might be endowed.

Raindrops are often thought of as blessings, as they help out plants. They even used to be called upon frequently by the Native Americans through the rain dance ritual.

In literature, crows are often used to symbolize tragedies by foreshadow — portrayed as mystical messengers of death.

The movie Troy has a good line of dialogue to show this; one character says to another before the starting of a war,

Good day for the crows.

Meaning, there is sure to be lots of death, as there’s a war about to surface.

In this track, Sadistik makes good use of them too, by remarking the crows will be sure to sing at his funeral; ultimately emphasizes the significance of his death.

Busdriver attempts to make a party themed track, or as he calls them “Club Anthems”. In this track he spits the a-typical braggadocio lyrics that you hear in any generic club banger, except he does it with much more flair and extravagance. Although, the main purpose of this song is to satire those type of tracks aforementioned before; he mocks the whole club-themed tracks by exposing the predictability of it all with his own version. Expect the typical qualities that you get in any other “Club Anthem” such as:

  • Getting women

  • Describing sexual experiences with said women

  • Talking down on others in a superficial manner

  • Boasting about ones self in a fairly outrageous manner

New York City has been terrorized by the crimes and overpopulation of people in it. Some of the buildings, benches, and other landmarks, are rusty and torn due to time passing by. The peak of this crime wave came in the ‘crack epidemic' in the 80’s and 90’s.

The crime and sleaze in New York was so high that it even ended up being parodied in the Simpsons with the message reading

Crime up 8 million percent'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9PjGXP0iC8

However recent measures seem to have gotten the crime under control and the city seems a much safer place.

Tone refers to one of the more notable crimes — in not only NYC’s history but the U.S’s history in general — which is the widely infamous 9/11 attack; a day where two planes crashed into the Twin Towers or World Trade Center adn the city seems a much safer place.). This attack stirred up quite the storm as many Americans were outraged at loss of their beloved ones who worked there. A wave of people were led to believe that it was an inside job, thinking it was conspired by the U.S government or a group within the U.S.
