Xbox 360 gamertag: flamedam2

I mostly play sandbox/open-world(-like) games, meaning that a lot of the stuff I play isn’t really all that amazing when it comes to online gaming. Some of my favourite games include Fable, Borderlands and Final Fantasy, I guess you could say I have a thing for games with near-reality settings.

Despite my small collection of Xbox 360 games, I have actually gamed a lot, as I have completely no-lived the shit out of my SNES, Playstation 1, GameBoy, GameBoy Advance SP and GameCube.

If I’m right, I have your ass beat in DJ Hero, Borderlands, and Fable.

[Produced by MC Delite and Prince Paul] Talkin All That Jazz by Stetsasonic 1

[Talkin All That Jazz] was inspired when Daddy-O and MC Delite were listening to Mtume, who made ‘Juicy Fruit,’ which in turn was used for the Biggie record.
Prince Paul

When you create a song about how there’s nothing wrong with sampling, it’s only right that you sample a plethora of songs yourself, which is exactly what happened when Stet went to create another hip-hop classic.

“Talkin All That Jazz” samples multiple drum loops. One comes from the aforementioned “Juicy Fruit”, while other samples come from Banbarra’s “Shack Up”, Sly & the Family Stone’s “You Can Make It If You Try”, and The Turtles' “I’m Chief Kamanawanalea (We’re the Royal Macadamia Nuts)”.

Aside from all these drums, there’s also a bass line from Lonnie Liston Smith’s jazzy “Expansions”. The sample was re-played by “[Paul’s] man Newkirk, who was my ride-or-die partner from back in the day. He came in and played all the keyboard parts in the bass line”.

[Verse 1]
Just out of Monday
Run into a friend
Down the street, down the street
Of where I live
Sad things begin
I could feel from within
From the message, from the message
He had to give
'Bout a buddy of mine
Running out of time
Somebody past noon, shot across the room
And now the man no longer lives
Too bad about him
Too sad about him
Don't get me wrong, the man is gone
But it's a wonder he lived this long

[Refrain]
Up in the city they called him Boss Jack
But down home he was an alley cat
Didn't care nothing about being black
Oh Billy Jack

[Verse 2]
Can't be no fun (Can't be no fun)
To be shot, shot with a hand gun
Body sprawled out, you without a doubt
Running people out, they're on the floor
A bad bloody bloody mess
Shot all up in his chest
One sided duel, gun and a fool
What a way to go

[Refrain]
Billy Jack by Lenny Kravitz

Elevations, maybe we can talk about Revelation 3:17 A Long Walk by Jill Scott

Revelation 3:17 is a concept that still holds a lot of meaning in this day and age, and certainly is good material for the elevation of one’s mind.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Revelation 3:17, the Holy Bible (King James version)

Black Moon Wall of Music Artist Directory by Rap Genius 2

M27

Black Moon is a Boot Camp Clik-affiliated group consisting of rappers Buckshot and 5 Ft. Accelerator, who were instrumentally backed by the third member Evil Dee (of Da Beatminerz). While they have released 5 albums in total, they are mostly celebrated for blessing us with the 1993 classic Enta da Stage, an album that means much to many rapheads.

If you like the sample of their work located at M27, “Who Got da Props”, checking out Enta da Stage is a must. Aside from any other Black Moon projects, listening to more projects from the Boot Camp Clik is also something you should definitely not miss out on. While 5 Ft. Accelerator didn’t have much success outside Black Moon, Buckshot and DJ Evil Dee surely did.

Del The Funky Homosapien Wall of Music Artist Directory by Rap Genius 2

Del, an artist often recognized because of the Gorillaz mega-hit “Clint Eastwood”, is an Oakland-native who has been bringing out rap music since the early 90’s. Starting with the funk-loaded classic I Wish My Brother George Was Here Del has been making music that many would consider odd. After quickly moving from P-funk to futuristic sounding production Del ended up creating what many consider his magnum opus; the Deltron 3030 collaboration with producer Dan the Automator and DJ Kid Koala. Del himself resides at position J3 with his single “If You Must

2 works from Del that pretty much everybody will recommend are the albums I Wish My Brother George Was Here and Deltron 3030; those are often considered his best albums and rightful classics. “If You Must” doesn’t exactly fit with those 2 albums, so if you like that be sure to check out Both Sides of the Brain and Future Development
