The opening track to Janelle Monáe’s fourth studio album introduces the idea of a Dirty Computer in its complexities.

The track features harmonizing (in typical Beach Boys fashion) from Beach Boys alum, and chief songwriter, Brian Wilson. This is their first collaboration.

Wilson is the first of many musical legends to appear on the album, with Prince providing the synth line to “Make Me Feel” and Stevie Wonder contributing to the interlude “Stevie’s Dream”, among others.

When a guy gets too intoxicated, it can lead to not being able to “get it up” when going to have sex. A slang term you may have heard for this is “whiskey dick,” even though Hennessy is a cognac.

Vic references Dead Kennedy Rolls’s 1981 song “Too Drunk to Fuck.” This also ties into the previous line, “I rock leather like a punk” as the band was in the punk rock genre.

This song predates Young Money’s “BedRock”, which was centered around a similar line, by about seven months. When “One Night Stand” was re-recorded for their debut album, All Over Your Face, this line (among several others) was rewritten, presumably due to the success of the Young Money song.

While still amazing movies, I think a big part of the reason these two are in my top 10 is due to the fact that I had watched both of them again the week I made this list. So, I’m actually going to replace these with the two films I get the most enjoyment out of, even if I don’t think they’re the “best”:

8 – Star Wars
9 – Wayne’s World

Also I’d bump Ed Wood for 2001, a film I can’t believe I forgot about when making my list (considering it’s my goddamn avatar)
