Giving a nod to the popular stereotype (and film) of how “white men can’t jump”; Gambino being black himself on the other hand, can actually jump and apparently jumps pretty high when he wants to.

Despite being called a white-rapper, Gambino actually has street cred! Not only has he worked with the likes of Fredo Santana, Problem, and Alley Boy, but he was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA (which he’s references numerous times on his recent mixtape STN MTN / Kauai).

Gambino was never a thug so it shows how even someone with his influence can be recognized by people living in the hood.

Although Bino is a chill, peaceful, and respectful person, as he so puts it in his interview with the Breakfast Club as well as his other songs, he’s still “a nigga from Atlanta” who won’t hesitate to go against you if need be.

The line does have a double meaning. He’s referring to alcohol – if there is alcohol around, he’ll easily gets to it.

Since we can’t see into the future, everything we do is really based on speculation and us guessing that hopefully things happen the way we want it to.

This deems especially true for relationships; we have an idea of how we want it to go and for the moment, we may be content but we’ll never know what will actually end up happening. This is where the idea of fighting for something you can’t see comes into play.

This can also be taken into the context of the film this song is a part of the soundtrack of, Mockingjay. “Fight what we can’t see” can be referred to fighting the Capitol.

Gambino has stressed the point lately that with coding, we can be the curators of our own realities and thus, we are becoming “gods”. Here he’s referencing himself as the like as “Young God”.

Note: This song’s instrumental was on his tape STN MTN / Kauai. The track before has a stretch of lyrics that goes:

We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god
We are becoming god

Kia is a Korean manufactured car which is relatively cheap, being common among the middle-class, denoting that the guy is just average.

Gambino goes on to contrast this by saying he’s got a “Bimmer” (pronced: bee-ma) which is slang for a BMW, which is a fancy upper-class German car. In the screenplay, The Boy/Gambino also owns a BMW, which he drives to Oakland prior to the events where this song comes in.

In the second half of the song’s chorus, Bino draws a contrast where he now is so in awe of his girl, he puts her first and wants her to feel good; he cares more about her happiness than his.

Similarly put in the first part of the chorus earlier in the song, he also wants to pleasure the girl sexually. We all know Gambino is one nasty dude.
