Doja does not mind admitting that she’s more attracted and interested in one’s personality and intelligence rather than their looks. I guess you could call her a bit of a sapiosexual.

It’s smart to think that because we all know that in the long run, personality and intelligence is more important.

Tinder is a matchmaking mobile app that finds users in a specific radius who also have the app as well and allows one to swipe either to the left or right if they dislike or like the picture respectively.

This is actually kind of a diss towards the guy Doja’s referring to because the way she says this line, it’s implied that he can’t get girls in real life and has to use an app to do so. Moreover (even though this isn’t actually true), a lot of the girls found on Tinder are classified as “skanky” or “easy” thus making the diss more hard-hitting to this dude.

Although Soulo doesn’t necessarily follow any religion, he deeply believes in God and still continues to do so even though so many things in his life would make him believe otherwise. He speaks about this in one of his more chillingly introspective songs A Rebellion.

Despite that, Ab-Soul sees it as self-fuel and finds himself more focused than ever to be a legend in the craft.

Ab-Soul’s step father (as well as his mother) would always tell him to be a man and to start getting his life together so he could one day have a way to feed himself and his family (see his song Be A Man).

Bringing in a reference to that very song in fact, he states that he knew he was already the man because of his talent with rapping. And now, (seeing how much Soulo is eatin) he is able to feed himself as well as his family pretty easily.

Quite possibly a reference to Soulo’s song “Hunnid Stax”, where this is said in the Lana Del Rey sample;

Money is the anthem

Also ‘though’ is pronounced as ‘dough’, dough as synonym for money.

Note: apparently this song “To The Max” was recorded during his Smoker’s Club tour (much before “Hunnid Stax”) so this would actually be a precursor to the song.

He only gets hate on the internet, but nobody will say anything to his face. In fact, Gambino made an entire song about this concept.

This is one example of the hate he’s gotten online.

To add to the hate he receives on the internet, this could also be indirectly referencing people like DDot Omen who made a diss song towards Gambino, but it’s precisely hate on the internet that allows Gambino to realize that in the real world, they really don’t exist.

A reference to the film A Beautiful Mind starring Russell Crowe as John Nash, a young prodigy who suffers from schizophrenia and goes through delusional episodes.

Sounds a bit similar to how one would describe Ab-Soul when he speaks about DMT and the third eye. Just like John Nash, they’re both actually enlightened and smart individuals.

Oh, so close! “Carpe diem” is actually how you say seize the day in Latin. But French is a romance language coming from Latin, so he’s somewhat on the right track.

“Saisir le jour” would actually be the closest translation of “seize the day” in French.

The phrase “seize the day” means to make the most of the day, but in this case he is probably referring to seizing Daylyt. In other words, to attack and take control of Daylyt.
