Stated earlier above, this girl is like a robot and automatic in the sense that she doesn’t know how to love properly. She seems to be the master at not reciprocating the love she’s being given by Bill which he himself is also starting to realize.

This girl that Bill is referring to is like an artificial being in where she doesn’t have a heart. Because of that, she doesn’t seem to reciprocate the love Bill is giving to her. “Automatic” refers to how she says things without meaning or substance; she just says things that he would want to hear.

Life is much too short and flawed; in the time we have been given, we need to realize that it’s actually not a lot of time we have and try to change the world.
You can also tell that Bill is alluding to the idea that the world is getting darker as time progresses. We are the people who inhabit the world, so we should be able to change it as we see fit. We’re still here, aren’t we?
