These are actually interesting lines here because they could be taken literally or metaphorically to illustrate the same message. Bill could be talking about how he doesn’t want her to jump “out” of the relationship and that they should keep working at it. He could also be saying not to literally jump and commit an act of suicide; if that were the case, then their relationship would really be over.

Since vultures are scavengers, it’s possible that the they could also be going for the couple’s dead love in addition to themselves.

Having previously stated that they themselves die when their love is dead, it makes sense that vultures would be circling around them hoping to scavenge their remains since they are known as scavenging birds of prey.

In a more metaphorical sense, if she were turn around, then it’s like looking in the past and returning to the place they were at before. Bill wants for their relationship to keep going forward which is why he’s telling her that they need to run. Looking back and fixating on that would only adversely effect what they’re trying to do.

This is after Dude 1 takes a step outside. The rest of this part could seem a bit vague so if you’re not understanding what exactly happens, just know that more cars drove up and basically Dude 1 took care of them.

Seems like Roscoe is a bit of an omnipotent guardian for the boy, doesn’t it? He’s been appearing throughout The Boy’s life quite frequently as of late, and it also seems like he’s able to decide if whether or not it’s the end. Apparently, it was his time.

This raises another question about Roscoe: is he good or bad?

By far, one of the most prevalent themes in the album as well as the screenplay which is also what Donald himself has said.

When The Boy first hears about Roscoe’s wetsuit, he begins to wonder about it quite frequently. You’ll also notice throughout the screenplay, he keeps seeing it in random places (written on buildings, some other people talking about it or writing it, etc.). It’s because Roscoe is a part of him.

In the screenplay, The Boy seems kind of lost about his life. But he’s also searching for answers. For reasons. For a point. He sees Roscoe’s wetsuit everywhere and is looking for a meaning behind it when it’s really the part of himself he’s trying to figure out. The Boy just doesn’t know he’s basically looking for what’s already a part of him.
