Side Note: There are quite a bunch of allusions and themes here (even some left open to interpretation) so try to bear with me as I explain some of them.

This dude Roscoe is smiling really hard here and thus shows his gold molar to The Boy. If you remember in the beginning of the screenplay, that was the name of his twitter handle (@thegoldmolar).

The reason why Roscoe has a gold molar is because, just like he told The Boy, he is a part of him. This is made evident in the short film “Clapping for the Wrong Reasons” when The Boy (or whatever you want to call him) pulled out that gold tooth from his nose. Since Roscoe is basically his other half (the other part of him The Boy’s been searching for this whole time), pulling out the tooth didn’t get rid of Roscoe at all.

Have you seen Fight Club? If you haven’t, just know this is a spoiler alert. Similar to the movie (which is also referenced in “Life: The Biggest Troll), the way to get rid of Roscoe was to get rid of The Boy. Now there is a bit of a difference because in the movie when The Narrator is shot, Tyler dies but The Narrator is still alive. In this case with The Boy and Roscoe, they both die.

Now try to put that all together. Why was The Boy so bent on figuring out Roscoe’s wetsuit? It’s because Roscoe was a part of him, and The Boy was leaning to find more about himself even if he didn’t know Roscoe was a part of him. Think of it this way: The Boy kept seeing signs of Roscoe’s wetsuit everywhere and kept trying to find the meaning. By doing that, he was indirectly trying to find himself.

Most known as the #1 Childish Gambino scholar and heavily regarded as the biggest Gambino stan on Rap Genius. Big on the love, and isn’t with the negativity.

#Check some of the stuff he’s done!

Fun fact: he’s black.

Another fun fact: His favorite album actually isn’t a Childish Gambino album.

Just to provide some backstory on the questions in general, I remember I had a chemistry lab that night and when I came on rap genius, I see all this hype on the forum about Gambino answering questions. Of course, I was hyped and a bit mad that I missed a lot of it.

I was looking at that thread and saw that he answered the questions like an hour or two prior to the time I got on, so having little hope at that moment, I wrote these questions thinking that he probably wouldn’t answer them but I still wanted to make myself feel better by posting them. But low and behold, he did, so he a G.

He’s referenced his sister Bree before in one of his songs and I know that his brother Steve G. Lover is himself a rapper and hangs out with Donald, but I wondered about his sister and her thoughts on her brother.

Being a big fan of Donald, by extension, I’m also a big fan of his comedy (check out his comedy special Weirdo). So it makes sense that I want to know if he’s going to do another type of comedy special. If not, it’s all good because I know he’ll incorporate comedy in his TV show.

Gambino teams up yet again with very close friend Jhene Aiko for an upbeat, Camp-esque track.

This is the part where they kinda fall in love a little bit.

BTI Screenplay: Since his mysterious rich father died, The Boy doesn’t know how much money is left, so he decides to start slanging drugs with the help of his friend; FAM. Naomi (who’s actually Jhene Aiko) thinks it’s a bad idea because she knows The Boy will be an “awful” dealer. Turns out it’s pretty easy for her to get used to the lifestyle.

Going back to a point he’s been making quite frequently throughout the album, The Boy is desperate to not be alone, a topic Gambino’s even stressed before in previous albums.

At this point, The Boy is fed up with the way the world works. He’s tired of rejection, death, and broken dreams, so he just longs for someone that does love him to hold him close.
