This isn’t game-related, but with the Mariners still struggling offensively, they decided to make a transaction and get slugging outfielder Mark Trumbo in a six-player deal with the Diamondbacks.

The Mariners got Trumbo and left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuno, while the D-Backs got Minor Leaguers Gabriel Guerrero and Jack Reinheimer (minors) along with Dominic Leone (who is having a pretty bad sophomore season so far compared to his rookie year) and backup catcher Welington Castillo.

Side Note: We’re just over one the first quarter of the season and Welington Castillo is already on his third team of the season. Remember when he first started out with the Cubs.

The hard throwing 22-year-old pitcher Aaron Sanchez is set to take the mound. Although he leads the league in base on balls (37), he has pitched 3 straight quality starts and currently has the second-best ERA in the Jays' rotation (3.88).

His record of 4-4 demonstrates perfectly the lack of consistency from the Jays' offense this season.

Chris Colabello wasted little time extending what is currently the longest hitting streak in the MLB with a double in the second inning.

Home Runs of June 3, 2015

These are the homers from Wednesday’s baseball games.

• Joey Votto and Maikel Franco provided a thriller for the Philly crowd in the 9th inning: Votto smashed a two-run shot to put the Reds up by 4, and Franco hit a game-tying three-run dinger against Aroldis Chapman (the first home run the closer surrendered since May 13, 2014).

• Joc Pederson is quietly catching up with Bryce Harper’s National League lead in home runs. He just hit his fifth homer in a row, giving him 17 on the year and only one behind Harper.

• Kevin Kiermaier hit the extra-inning homer that provided the game-winning run for a 6-5 Rays victory.
