Ironic that while the United States has a supposed war against Muslim countries, Jesus is, in fact, one of the most respected prophets in Islam.

The most mentioned prophet in the Qur'an is Moses (commonly transliterated as Musa; موسى‎, pronounced “Mūsā”), as he is mentioned 136 times. Jesus, whose name is commonly transliterated as Isa (but also known as Al-Masih, the Messiah; or Ibn Maryam, the Son of Mary) is mentioned in the Qur'an a total of 59 times.

That being said, in terms of who was quoted the most, there is a possibly that it is indeed Jesus.

“Dear Mama” is the song that made it OK to admit: even if they kill people and sell drugs, deep down, thugs are all sensitive mama’s boys.

It was the third hip-hop act ever (after Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s “The Message”“ and Public Enemy’s album, Fear of a Black Planet) to be placed in the Library of Congress.

Tupac’s mom, Afeni Shakur, died on May 2nd, 2016.

Watch Tupac talk about this song in the video below:

Look around you in this studio right now. I have women working on my music. They understand where I’m coming from. So does my mama. I always play my music for her before it comes out. Why do you think I wrote ‘Dear Mama’? I wrote it for my mama because I love her and I felt I owed her something deep. (2Pac, 1995)

In Eminem’s tribute letter 2Pac he states that even though he had a bad relationship with his Mom; “I could put ‘Dear Mama’ in and damn near be in tears.”

All children need a strong father figure present in their lives when it’s most important, and the mother oftentimes has the burden of taking care of their children while also being the financial provider all by themselves; refer to the second line in the second verse.

The song begins with an anecdote about Pac and his mother, Afeni Shakur:

When Tupac first started rapping, he had a reasonably stable life in Baltimore, MD. While attending the Baltimore School for the Arts, he had the opportunity to study theater, ballet, and other forms of art; it was the first time he felt like he actually “loved his classes”.

While this was happening, his mother was having a difficult time securing a job; it has been claimed that this was due to her involvement with the Black Panther Party and being labeled as one of the infamous New York 21.

Two years later, before having the privilege of graduating from this reputable school, the Shakur family was evicted from their house. Pac’s mom decided to send him to Marin City, CA to live with a family friend.

(It wasn’t until he moved in with a neighbor when he started living the street life.)

Love = Evol … Em seems to have added (slightly incorrect) palindromes to his repertoire for this album. (See, “Almost Famous.”)

Nas rapped something similar to this on AZ’s song “Everything is Everything”:

Never play with love
Love is evil spelled backwards

FUN FACT: This is an idea that goes back to Amiri Baraka’s poem “In Memory of Radio” (which was published in 1961):

& love is an evil word.
Turn it backwards/see, see what I mean?
An evol word.

On another note, it could also be him saying to spell evil backwards (live), implying to live and you’ll soon find out that “love is evil”.
