1993 was the year Jennifer Holliday married her second husband, Andre Woods. It was also around this time when her mother died of cancer.
According to a June 1999 issue of Jet magazine, Holliday said that Andre Woods had ran through all the money she earned as an artist.
“It was like experiencing two deaths at the same time,” Jennifer remembers. “The grief was overwhelming.” To stabilize her emotions and help her cope with the loss of her mother and an ugly divorce, Jennifer took her doctor’s advice and decided to go back on the antidepressants that had been prescribed for her once before.

The first recorded use of the phrase “bootylicious” which would later be the title of a #1 hit by Destiny’s Child.
The word here is clearly meant to have a much more negative connotation. The Oxford English Dictionary breaks down both definitions:
