  • He’s now the third third baseman to go deep 40+ times in consecutive seasons. The other two? Eddie Mathews (1953-55), and Troy Glaus (2000-01).
  • He’s also the fourth Rockies player in franchise history to accomplish the back-to-back feat. The three before him are Andres Galarraga (1996-1997), Vinny Castilla (1996-1998), and Todd Helton (2000-2001).

It looked like the Rangers would be stopped in their tracks tonight. Kendall Graveman took a perfect game into the seventh inning, but lost it on an high-bouncing infield single by speedster Carlos Gomez.

Two batters later, after Carlos Gomez scored on a groundout, Adrian Beltre stepped up and crushed pitch over the left field wall to widen Texas’s lead to 3-0.

  • Brian Dozier hit his 40th home run as a second baseman, which is now a new American League all-time record.
  • Yasmani Grandal had a huge night, going 4-for-4 and hitting two home runs in the process (including a grand slam).
