El-P is indeed a pessimist. He is referring to himself and Killer Mike working together as Run the Jewels. Two real hip-hop legends. If this partnership doesn’t work and people don’t appreciate it, then pessimistic assholes like El-P are proven right about how bad hip-hop has become.
