In these two lines FiO references back to the first two lines of this verse reminding the listener that he is sick of living in the shadows. He feels as if he just exists hidden in the shadows of artists more well known that he is.

FiO continues to dig deeper into the lyrics written prior to these by informing the listener that his lyrics all come from his real life experiences and are driven from real life emotions. He’s trying to be different than all those other rappers out there who rap about cars, clothes, women, and weapons.

FiO opens up the second verse angrier than the first. He begins to stress how even though he loves writing the music he spoke about in the first verse he feels as if he is battling both his emotions and himself to create great songs.

He then adds that he’s trying as hard as he possibly can to shine but still feels that he’s walking in others footsteps. He’s trying to create his own set of footsteps but can’t seem to find a way to do so.

This is the first time in FiO’s career that he has taken a step back to realize that his music is finally making an impact on peoples lives. There is no need to search for what he should do in life. Music is where he belongs.

Once again, FiO adds to the line prior to this. He explains how those ideas, feelings, and songs cause him to dream of a bigger and better life but in order to achieve this bigger and better lifestyle sometimes you have to make decisions you would not ordinarily make.

This line is a very important line in the song. In just this one line FiO explains where and why he writes songs. His thoughts create very powerful emotions and with no other outlet he uses these feelings to create songs. This is why every song he writes has so much meaning to it.

None of his songs are about materialistic bullshit.

Again, FiO adds to the previous four lines, insisting that without music in his life he never would of strived to be both a great person and artist.

He continues to emphasize the two lines prior to these two informing the listener that in his depressed state of mind, there is only one thing that makes life worth living…music.

FiO shows you the world through his depressed eyes. He feels dead inside until the very moment he puts his headphones back on, because when he does listen to or records music he comes alive.

FiO opens up the song with an enormous amount of emotion. It is here that FiO tries to explain to the listener just how angry and hurt he truly is inside, but explains that you would never know. He doesn’t want to appear weak on the outside so he puts on a mask and hides behind it. This helps him get by in life.
