In verse 2 FiO once again switches his attitude altering the feel of the song by leaving his humble ways in his first verse.

He once again is cocky and confident but this time he has a motive. Most of this second verse is devoted to “the haters” and how he feels about them currently.

He speaks of how both other artists and Hip Hop listeners have taken shots at him. Even though these shots were fired left and right FiO still continued speaking from the heart through rap. Not only did he keep going, but more importantly he surpassed those who had belittled him prior to this song.

“Cause they came with their guns, when I came with grenades
Thats why I blew up, and they still in the range”

What FiO is basically saying is that those who took shots brought guns to a grenade fight. They took their shots, firing left and right, but shots can be healed. When a grenade explodes, it takes everyone with it. Everyone but FiO Baby.

He then continues with the verse with an explanation. He explains how it was even a shock to him that he was able to get pass all the hate.

“With Lost in Time I proclaimed, A Lucid Dream will reclaim
This thrown, once owned, by me, bout to be a king like Leon
Cause my absence knocked me down, bet your ass I want that crown
See my castle be this town, but my kingdoms underground”

These words are a crucial part of the song because he’s telling the listener that he made a dent in this rap game with his first mixtape (Lost in Time) and because of his two year hiatus he’s lost his “thrown” or lime light. He then adds that his new mixtape (A Lucid Dream) will surpass the success he had with Lost in Time and he will once again be on top.

He finishes off the song with references to Family Matters and the HULK.

In the bridge FiOs attitude changes radically. Once cocky he now becomes extremely humble explaining to the listener that although he feels like he’s on top of the world he still has to face reality. It’s almost as if he’s living two separate lives.

Still humble, he continues the rest of the verse out explaining how much he misses “home”. But because he doesn’t want an office job for the rest of his life he feels that it is the rap game that he must devote his time to, not his close friends nor family (although he wants to).

FiO starts the song with strong excitement. He lets us know two things. One, he is cocky and two, he is the main character of the song.

Within the first 12 bars FiO boasts more than he has in any other of his songs. He makes references to Latrell Sprewell, Krispy Kreme, and his place of birth, Long Island.

He also refers back to the Campus Socialite Awards where he was nominated “Best College Rapper”.

In the bridge FiO revisits the mood he altered the song to in his first verse where he speaks of praying to god that his life would turn around. But this time he speaks of his dark time in a thankful state of mind, the same one he taught himself in the second verse.

Instead of looking at his past in a negative light he thanks god he prayed and wished because things have finally turned around. He concludes the song, once again confident, screaming “Look where I am now!”.

FiO continues the second verse with the same excitement in which he left off the first, amazing! He claims that his life must be some sort of incredible movie because it doesn’t feel like reality. Its too good to be reality.

By the 6th bar FiO introduces us to how he now views life. It seems as if he’s found a way to see the good, even in the bad. He continues the verse by bragging about his new state of mind and how incredible it feels to finally be living. FiO tries to explain that even though he doesn’t like to brag, this is his moment in time to shine!

He concludes the verse with 2 metaphors. One referring to HBOs hit series Entourage, and the other towards the Jason Bourne Trilogy.

Within the first line of the first verse it is made clear that this song is about FiO himself. FiO is telling the listener that he feels like his luck is about to change.

Thanks to the overwhelming amount of fans who continue to bump his freshman mixtape “Lost in Time” he has regained confidence in both himself and his music. FiO takes the time to say what up to any fan that approaches him.

By the 5th line of the song FiO switches up the mood of the song telling us about the dark time in which came before this song was written.

He speaks of feeling lost to the point where he began praying for things to turn around. He then once again alters the mood of the song in the 8th bar of the song with the statement “look where I am now” assuring the listener that he has indeed climbed out of hole he was once stuck in.

FiO continues the verse with lines of celebration allowing us to understand how great he was feeling when the song was being written.

Due to a surprising amount of Canadian fans he made sure to drop a line shouting them out all out (“this ones for Can man”).
