This is real talk, too. Living below the poverty line (ie, living in the hood) creates a lot of crime. This is because there is not a lot of opportunity in the hood, and/or because the opportunities are too far out of reach to be realized. This leaves a lot of people discouraged, feeling disenfranchised, and desperate for survival. Since the odds of success are stacked against someone who lives in the hood, it is commendable when someone beats those odds, actually does reach those opportunities and becomes successful. It’s a more difficult path than resorting to crime. Give them their props, bruh.
