They hating from the sidelines, they pissed off, piss test em’ Bitches & Bottles (Let's Get It Started) by DJ Khaled (Ft. Future, Lil Wayne & T.I.)

Quite a decent amount of wordplay from Wayne here. First, football metaphors: He is on the field, which equates to “running the rap game”, while everybody on the sidelines, or other rappers are hating on him. Next, pissed off = angry, but Weezy mentions athletes, who get their urine checked for traces of steroids.

My uncle fading from that needle though
Found out he fully blown a couple weeks ago
My aunt tested negative but it’s the same result
Truth Or Truth, Pt. 1 by Slaughterhouse

Looks like Joell’s uncle shot up heroin into his body using needles, which could potentially give him HIV/AIDS if he’s sharing the needle (which he likely was). Finally, his uncle sobered up. His aunt on the other hand could potentially have gotten AIDS from him, but somehow wasn’t infected.

His uncle is a full-blown addict, and with this is the risk of HIV+/AIDS. Luckily, his Aunt hasn’t been infected with anything because of her parter’s (Joell’s uncle) addiction. However, it doesn’t matter whether she’s got AIDS or not — when his uncle dies, Joell is saying his aunt will die (mentally not physically) because of her love for him (Joell’s uncle).

Truth Or Truth, Pt. 1 by Slaughterhouse

Slaughterhouse ain’t just a supergroup, they’re trying to take over the game and the mainstream (with some help from Eminem of course). Whether they do has yet to be seen

And this will be the realest shit I ever wrote Truth Or Truth, Pt. 1 by Slaughterhouse

This is just a filler line at this point…he’s said it multiple times in this verse. Guess that’s what happens when you spit a long verse. .

2pac was one of the first rappers to popularize the phrase though, on Against All Odds

Always on my mind so I can't sleep
She used to tell me she was all mine
Hip Hop by DJ Khaled (Ft. DJ Premier, Nas & Scarface)

Scarface spent many sleepless nights writing rhymes, recording, always making music when he was younger. He used to do it all alone, no drugs, no gimmicks, just him and hip-hop

Things change over the years, especially now that he’s in his 40s. He no longer is one of the top emcees, though he will forever be considered a great

There are references to Scarface’s classic track, Mind Playin' Tricks On Me
