The song is on Loaded Lux’s highly anticipated street EP, titled Beloved, which after his immense battle with Calicoe (which did wonders for his popularity), the EP seemed to almost have blown up on a small scale.

The song features a groovy yet almost sad bassline, with Loaded rapping about regular life and getting by in the Harlem jungle.

Calicoe is referring to Smack/URL’s roots, being the famous Smack DVD Series, and how the so-called legends were hot “at the time”, but now they’ve degraded to the point with no voice, and have to live through the new younger breed of artists.

There is also a similar cycle within hip-hop itself, with very few veterans still being able to remain relevant.

Lux refers to Calicoe’s recent high traffic (Back in 2012), while he was busy tearing people up in the URL, going on a killing streak/tying streak, last battle before his streak ending being against Math Hoffa, where many considered Cal to be one of the best as he did kill Math in his own hometown.

Lux shows his genius, and tells of how he helped build Calicoe’s empire up, posing as an ally, just to rip him apart when he hit his pinnacle (The math battle), making the win that much more worthwhile.

Vic mentions here that him and his brother are wound tightly together, their relationship much like that of conjoined twins, the most famous example being the Siamese Twins.

He explains how to talk to his brother, he would first have to speak with himself, but himself referring to them as one because of the hypothetical hip situation

Vic’s bitch said she’d cook him breakfast after they fucked the whole night, but Vic here uses some slang, strizzy, which means straight or all good, so Vic doesn’t want nothing fancy and is really fine with eating cereal.

Vic would rather just have a one night stand with this girl and eat cereal (probably cheerios) than have this girl stick around and make him breakfast, which could potentially blossom into a relationship.

Gibbs is constantly working that “Scale”, which may refer to an actual scale, to which he weighs the cocaine and weed that he sells to ensure a safe transaction, or may refer to the old beliefs of every person’s personal scale, which weighs their sins and good deeds, and results in either heaven or hell.

Produced by none other than the ringleader of the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA, this song gives us a deep look and a walk through the lives of young men, struggling to get by day to day and hunting for riches in the concrete jungle of New York.

This light yet deceptively deep beat samples a beautifully playful piano segment from “As Long As I’ve Got You” by The Charmels.

The sample appears throughout the entire song. RZA tunes it up from F to F#.

The beat contains two distinct parts to it, with the introduction, being a heavily drum-oriented loop, sampling voices from the song mentioned above. This provides a smooth transition into the second loop, which is the backdrop for the rest of the song.

In the transition, RZA samples the beautiful piano melody, which is repeated throughout the entire song. You hear a faint bass, which compliments the aesthetic of being a light song, whereas the heavy drums provide contrast, creating an atmospheric heaviness to the entire song.

This beat breakdown is definitely worth watching.

Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama, essentially Denzel is “playing Grey’s Anatomy”, with this girl, which could mean breaking her down mentally by playing hard to get (The drama element), and then catching her back. Or they could literally be doing Grey’s Anatomy type stuff, who knows. Denzel’s fucked up really.

He bounces her once he’s done with her (dumps her, cuts her from his inner circle etc.), He wouldn’t play with her emotionally however, making another reference to one of possibly the greatest franchises ever, Super Mario, in which Bowser takes Peach, presumably toying with her, making Mario go through hills, deserts, skies just to save her.

Intelligent reference hence the title of his album, Nostalgic 64.
