Dennis Bergkamp is a legendary retired striker who played for Ajax, Internazionale and Arsenal.
He is called the Non-flying Dutchman because he’s simply terrified of flying.
In 1994 Bergkamp was in a plane where the engine cut out. One of the journalists on board didn’t help when he joked about having a bomb in his bag.
Since the incident, Bergkamp never flew again.
This nickname is, of course, a reference to the urban legend: The Flying Dutchman.
