T.I. compares how much money he has to that of former business man Bernie Madoff. Bernie Madoff was a known operator of one of the world’s largest ponzi schemes. The scheme went on for over twenty years without no one suspecting him. During that time, he reportedly gained over 65 billion dollars from the scheme. In 2009 Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison. Ironically T.I. was sentenced that same year two months earlier on March 27th, 2009.

A biblical reference, BoB compares his lifestyle to that of Noah’s Ark. In the story Noah is asked by God to bring two animals of each species. On the surface this line would appear to make sense. Blu uses the old saying wish upon a star, don’t wish that things will happen for you. Make them happen yourself. A lot of rappers want to sign and get big, but the percentage of the cut they actually make isn’t nearly as much as they feel they deserve
Blu continues the metaphor by stating that in L.A the real stars don’t get the recognition they deserve (don’t shine). More mediocre artists get the limelight because they’re more appealing to the masses (Radio/Party music). Thus Blu’s message in his music isn’t heard by enough people, because we’re blinded by the mainstream music that has little to no real substance.
