In just his first full season, Matt Harvey is not only just an All-Star, but arguably the best pitch in the National League, if not all of baseball. His fWAR of 4.3 is second in the Majors to only Adam Wainwright (4.4 fWAR). Pitching in front of his home crowd, Harvey will likely be the starting pitcher for the NL.

His only opponent is his nosebleed problem, and he’s also dating a supermodel. What a guy.

David Wright is finally getting the respect his career deserves. This year, he is now able to say that not only he is an All-Star, but undoubtedly the best third baseman in New York City. While he isn’t putting up monster numbers, his line of .306/.394/.519 and amazing 4.7 WAR (Wins Above Replacement) rating, good for second in the National League, cemented his spot on the starting lineup.

Wright will be the king of 2013 All-Star weekend, seeing that he is the head honcho of the home team. It is easy to see why David was named Captain of the Mets earlier in the season. It is also the reason he earned the nickname “Captain America” during the World Baseball Classic.

Plus, he showed his complete dedication to the game when he slid into Chase Utley’s genitals to break up a potential double play.

Point guard Shaun Livingston, who has rare height for the position at 6 feet 7 inches, is best known for a gruesome 2007 injury that probably should have ended his playing career. It was so bad that a doctor at the hospital Livingston was rushed to told him that there was a chance his leg would have to be fucking amputated. Thankfully, Big Shaun was able to recover and has become a solid journeyman backup PG. He will compete with sophomore Tyshawn Taylor for the spot behind Deron Williams.

Watson is the epitome of a hot and cold guy. There will be nights where he looks like the best backup PG in his conference thanks to his speed, craftiness and shooting, and then there will be nights like this…

Andray Blatche garnered a bad reputation when he was a member of the Wizards (boneheaded mistakes, not being in shape), resulting in the Wiz using their amnesty clause on him. Billy King, GM of the Nets, took a chance with Blatche and signed him, and his production and talent was undeniable: Blatche was the only player in the league to average 19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per 36 minutes last year.

Blatche has a unique situation: because of his amnesty from the Washington Wizards, Blatche stands to make at least $8 million a year for the next two seasons regardless of the contract he signs. So instead making $2.9 million over the next two years, he is actually making nearly $19 million.

Blatche will be key to the Nets success this upcoming season. He was clearly the best offensive backup center in the league last year, and now with Kevin Garnett as a teammate, the Nets are hoping Blatche will improve his defense and become a 6th man of the year candidate.

The last pick in the NBA Draft is nearly always a total enigma. The last time a 60th overall pick made any impact in the NBA was point guard Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings. Timma is regarded as a powerful small forward who has a quick release and can create his own shots. He also is regarded highly for his athletic play and great defense. Thomas was drafted in 2011, but it is still exceedingly rare for a 60th pick to be close to worthwhile.
