Speaking to himself in the past.
Jack will be held accountable for things he’s done, but he doesn’t believe that he can’t make a change in his life (although people may tell him he can’t). He has sinned, and he will sin even more, but he has a long path left in life and is able to turn his life around.
The end of the discussion with his past, and how he moved from his social network because of drugs/alcohol/lacking faith.
When put on repeat, this verse will loop right back to the beginnning of verse number 1: the present, and then verse number 2: the future, and then again verse number 3: the past. Jack structured the verses like this so it seems like it’s almost a never-ending cycle. And if he would have started with the past as his first verse, that would be too obvious.
