Altogether, this name could be essentially be a “great red fish” or a red herring.

Elliot believes that he is being followed by powerful people because they show up shortly after he gets Mehta arrested. This is distracting Elliot from the fact he is most likely hallucinating the Men in Black.

It would be even more interesting if the man’s name was not actually Rohit Mehta but his mind–being an unreliable POV–changed it to Rohit Mehta subconsciously.

For most of the season, the Men in Black are very visible and seem to be tailing Elliot but their reality has not been proven or disproven.

In this episode alone we are told by Krista that Elliot has imagined Men in Black before but at its conclusion, they pick him on the side of the street and bring him to Tyrell.
