Oddisee left his home to go to big cities, which are always talked up as being the place to be if you want to make it big (such as heading to Los Angeles for the music/movie business).

To relax on weekends, a lot of people in the US like to sit back and relax by the pool (if they have one) and have a barbecue with their friends. Since Oddisee wrote his verse while “chilling”, it only makes sense that his verse would exemplify the feeling of being laid back.

This line also serves to show how chill he really is. He’s trying to make the listener know that he’s not that different from everyone else.
