Alot of people join the armed forces as a last resort. Money issues, lack of direction, etc. The structure of life in America is hard, and part of me can understand how people can enlist.

Dopeboy music is taken seriously by it’s listeners and it’s killing us. Liberty Bell is a symbol of American independence…but I think we need to get free from much of what America values.

Americans and the way we lead our lives, have a lot to do with what happened on 9/11. Never excusing what happened, but responsibility has to be taken.

The towers are gone. There only remains the memories of the victims.

I was 20 mins outside of Manhattan, sleeping in my college dorm, when this happened. A friend woke me up and told me what was going on. Shorty after, I got a phone call from my school asking me if I could drive a van to bring students willing to donate blood to the hospitals. I said yes, threw on some clothes, and got into it.

Something was going on, that we didn’t know about then. More information slowly surfaced and it angered some Americans what was discovered. Hard to smooth that over as a government.

People that paid attention (to our foreign policies especially), knew this would happen. The White House was warned about the attacks…so it wasn’t ignorance. Neglect? Pride?

We as Americans never imagined anyone, group or nation posing a threat to us, until the attacks happened…

Back in New York, I was apart of a “supergroup” called The Reavers. Affilations with MF Dooms crew, Wu-Tang, Immortal Technique and Def Jux gave us some nice buzz and drew a lot of comparisons to Wu-Tang. I love the music we made, and fans really supported our movement…but I think our debut album, Terror Firma, was the first and last from us. As Talib Kweli says, it was kinda dope – google it, buy that shit!

A lot of people hit me up online (which I love) about doing a track with them, or using their beats. I used to do music with people without ever asking to be compensated. I found people will take advantage of you that way, so I do a better job of balancing that out now. I never want to take away from my pure love of creating music, but I gotta keep the lights on, too!
